@bloftin2 Some years back I saw a clip of some dude just skating down that famous super long ditch (Indian something?). I was utterly blown away at how...just...awesome it looked. It was like watch water flow or something. I asked Joe (Makarski) who it was. "Dude, that is Tony Alva." A light went on. A very bright one. I understood. It was actually a really transformative (skateboard) moment for me. I had long, long, long ago moved away from "progression is everything," but this hit on some much deeper level. I am often fond of saying, "The subtle is the most profound." The older I get, the more I realize just how subtle skateboarding can be, and by extension, just how profound. That is were real resonanace can be found.
